Question: Can I put stickers on my hard hat?

Answer: There is no specific OSHA regulation prohibiting the use of stickers on hard hats, but workers are required to maintain them in workable condition. Regular inspections are part of keeping your hard hat in good condition. Stickers could impede these inspections by masking damage such as nicks, cracks, wear, and potentially impair electrical resistance. The hard hat manufacturer knows their product(s) best, so soliciting their input is a wise first choice, as well as checking whether your employer has a policy about stickers on hard hats. And if you do decide to put stickers on your hard hat, try to limit it to just a few.
